ST. LOUIS — A man accused of carrying a machete was charged Monday with robbing two riders on a MetroLink train in St. ÑÇÖÞÎÞÂë.
At around 3 p.m. Sunday, Christopher C. Crockett, 39, approached two 21-year-old men on a train nearing the Central West End station, threatened them with a machete, and demanded their electronics, charges say.
One of the 21-year-olds turned over a cell phone, and the other handed over a computer and an iPad, charges say.Â
They reported the holdup to police, and officers tracked one of the phones. St. ÑÇÖÞÎÞÂë police and Washington University officers arrested Crockett in the 100 block of Newstead Avenue.
Crockett was charged with two counts of first-degree robbery and two counts of armed criminal action. No injuries were reported.Â
