A MUST HAVE from the
Great American Banknote Hoard
Many enthusiasts treasure U.S. Silver Dollar coins for their gleaming beauty and the
enduring value of their 90% Silver content. Yet, some 125 years ago, Americans also prized
a di铿erent kind of U.S. Silver Dollar: the Silver Certi铿乧ate. One of the most coveted is the
Series 1899 $1 Black Eagle Silver Certi铿乧ate. Recently, a previous unknown 鈥渉oard鈥 or
private cache of this historic bill has been found. Now, this sought-after, vintage banknote
can be yours, available for a limited time from The Bradford Exchange Mint.
鈥淥ne Silver Dollar Payable To The Bearer On Demand.鈥
In the 19th Century, many Americans preferred coins over paper money. Yet the
convenience of paper bills over jingling, heavyweight coins led to their eventual acceptance.
What also helped was that Silver Certi铿乧ates gave Americans the privilege to turn these
legal tender paper notes into shining Silver! Each Silver Certi铿乧ate stated, 鈥淥ne Silver
Dollar Payable to the Bearer on demand.鈥 This authorized the exchange of one Silver
Certi铿乧ate for one Silver Dollar coin or Silver bullion equivalent until 1964.
One of The Most Famous Pieces of U.S. Currency.
Famously known as the 鈥淏lack Eagle,鈥 this 1899 bill was among the last of the
large-size U.S. bills and is almost 25% larger than those in use today. The bill鈥檚 front
showcases a large, engraved image of a mighty American Bald Eagle in dramatic black ink.
This 鈥淓agle of the Capitol鈥 grasps a 铿俛g pole, backed by the U.S. Capitol building. Its wings
shelter two revered Civil War-era presidents: Abraham Lincoln and Ulysses S. Grant. It is the
only U.S. currency design to feature TWO presidents. The front鈥檚 blue Treasury Seal and
Serial Number plus steel-engraved designs on both sides make this a beautiful work-of-art.
Surviving Notes are Becoming Even Rarer.
Due to the fragile nature of paper currency, few of these sought-after bills remain in
graded condition. Fortunately, a limited supply has been recovered from a historic hoard.
Each genuine and rare banknote is in graded condition and arrives secured in a PCGS
holder. This iconic $1 banknote is a tangible piece of history that will be treasured for
years to come. Please note that this is a limited time o铿er, so call before this opportunity
